- Looking after you equipment can ensure that you don’t have any unnecessary problems. Here are some tips on how you can make sure your equipment is looked after.
- Keep your system well aired to avoid overheating, ensure you keep the vents clear so air can circulate around the system
- Turn the power off at night, to cool your system down and save energy too!
- Place your box on a flat surface to avoid it being knocked over, also ensure you keep your equipment safe from damage, such as spilled drinks or damage from pets.
- Avoid keeping a cordless telephone near your equipment as this can interfere with the signal.
- Check the batteries in your remote control are working, you can do this by pressing any button, if you see a red light at the top of the remote the batteries are fine.
- If you experience a loss of signal check that all of your wires are plugged in.
- Weather can affect your satellite signal, as can obstructions such as scaffolding.
- Sometimes a poor quality scart lead can affect your viewing, if you have problems you could try replacing your scart lead to improve this.
- Try not to use any cleaning products on your equipment to avoid damage, just wipe it with a dry duster.
